Author Jason Hershey

Jason Hershey is a high school English teacher and fiction author from South Phoenix, Arizona. With over a decade in the classroom, Jason brings a storyteller's instinct to everything he does — whether he's working with students or crafting the next chapter of his To Die To Live series.

Jason's books are grounded in real places and real emotions, with characters readers can identify with, care about, and root for. His stories explore themes of identity, belonging, and the communities that shape us — many of them rooted in the South Phoenix neighborhood that raised him.

He is a graduate of Bethel College and currently lives in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, with his wife, Kristina, and their sons, Ryan and Aaron. Outside of writing and teaching, Jason treasures time with his two grandsons.

His third novel, The Purpose of Life, is coming in early Spring 2026.

Some things I love:

When he's not writing or teaching, Jason can usually be found with a good mystery novel in his hands, music playing in the background — whatever the mood calls for. He loves good food, exploring new places, and a packed match day schedule. A former college football player at Bethel College, Jason has carried that love of competition into more than a decade of coaching soccer — and few things bring him more joy than watching the beautiful game at any level.

A proud Arizona native through and through, Jason roots hard for the Arizona Cardinals, Arizona State Sun Devils, Phoenix Suns, and Arizona Diamondbacks. Good movies, good conversation, and good people are never far from his list of priorities.
